Dreamworks Reportedly Shopping Itself, Can’t Find Any Takers

Dreamworks Animation (DWA) CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has “offered up DWA [for sale] to every Hollywood studio,” but found no takers, according to Deadline Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke.

The post also indicated that Katzenberg has been telling people that Comcast (CMCSA) wants to buy DWA and make him the head of NBC Universal; but Finke writes that Comcast execs Brian Roberts and Steve Burke were telling “power players” at the Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley last week that Katzenberg had been asking Comcast to buy DWA, and suggesting he be put in charge of NBCU. Finke writes that she has heard Comcast told people they aren’t interested in buying DWA or in hiring Katzenberg.

DWA is down 52 cents, or 1.7%, to $30.58.
